As a part of yearly tuition, USYSC Academy Teams enter two (2) fall tournaments, two (2) spring tournaments, and host an annual winter Futsal Tournament.

Ages: Players may play up in age, but not down.

Team Sizes:

U6/7 & U8: 4v4
U9 & Up: 5v5 (4 outfield + 1 goalkeeper)

Games:

U6/7: 10-minute halves, 2-minute halftime
U8 & Up: 25-minute games + finals
3 games guaranteed
Group play + finals depending on bracket size
No overtime, injury time, or stoppage time

General Rules:

No offsides
No timeouts
No bench switching at halftime
Goalkeeper must wear a different color jersey
Substitutions are on-the-fly including goalkeepers
All subs must occur in the technical area
Improper substitutions may result in a yellow card

Restarts:

Kickoffs: Indirect, must move forward
Kick-ins: Indirect, taken within 4 seconds
Goal Clearances: Rolled/thrown from penalty area
Corner Kicks: Direct, taken within 4 seconds
Free Kicks: Ball must be stopped before kick
Penalty Kicks: Taken from designated spot
Distance Rule: Opponents must be 16 feet away
Ceiling Contact: Restart with kick-in by opposing team

Fouls & Misconduct:

No slide tackling or leaving feet
No heading U11 and younger
Yellow Card Warning
Red Card Ejection + 2-minute penalty unless scored upon
Suspension: Minimum one-match for red card

Goalkeeper Rules:

May kick or throw over half-line
May score directly with feet
No punting/drop-kicking
4-second possession limit in own half
One touch per team possession
No throws into opponent's penalty arc
Pass-back rule applies to all age groups

Player Equipment

Indoor soccer shoes required
Shin guards required
Home Team: Light jerseys
Away Team: Dark jerseys

Concessions available on-site. No outside food permitted Except water*

Concessions During Tournament Weekend: The USYSC Indoor Futsal Tournament is hosted at St. Sava Serbian Cultural Center during a time of Orthodox fasting. Out of respect for church guidelines, all concessions will be vegan options only (no meat, dairy, or eggs). A variety of kid-friendly and athlete-friendly choices will be available.
